American Dream Artist Talk: Lauren Cohen

Join us for a free artist talk by Lauren Cohen, whose work represents an artistic universe around themes of control, power, sexuality, and violence, especially in the formation of societal “others.” With its layered and rich history, Raynham Hall is an ideal site to consider Cohen’s work, which is inspired by the interplay between the past and the present, and how perceptions of people and events change over time. Cohen will discuss her works on view in American Dream, as well as her recent graphic novels that include nude self-portraits and address the trials and travails of being a contemporary artist in New York City.
