Revolutionary Oyster Bay: Opening Cocktail Reception
Join us on September 23, from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm, for the launch of Raynham Hall’s first catalog highlighting the Museum’s collections, and the opening of the corresponding exhibition, Revolutionary Oyster Bay. The opening will include welcome remarks by Curatorial Fellow Katie Cynkar and a cocktail reception.
Since its founding in 1653, Oyster Bay has experienced various revolutionary moments through colonization, war, rebuilding, and expansion. At the center of this change was Raynham Hall. Today, the Museum’s collections reflect the history of Raynham Hall– a place shaped by family life, global commerce, war, historic preservation, and ongoing scholarship. Revolutionary Oyster Bay invites you to explore how the Museum’s collection represents these centuries of continuity and change—revealing how generations shaped, and were shaped by, this town and this home.
